Calculate the odds of a chance encounter with your bias who left the group!
Hello, This is Gen.G Entertainment.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the NEXTs who have always given their unsparing support to the group, and we wish to inform you about NEXUS's future activity plans.
We have discussed the future direction of NEXUS for a long time and have had deep conversations with each member about their vision for the team's future and goals. In this process, Jihoon's desired direction conflicted with the group's goals, and after much discussion, we have decided to end our journey together.
We have agreed to conclude our exclusive contract with Jihoon on the 3rd, and Jihoon will cease all activities as a member of NEXUS as of that time. Accordingly, NEXUS will continue its activities as a 4-member group starting from official schedules after March 3rd.
We recognize that it may be difficult for all fans to accept this matter with the same heart. However, we want to inform you that this decision was made after long and careful consideration with the members.
We will strive to become a NEXUS that shows a new system and diverse sides in the future. We will repay your unchanging support.
Thank you.
It was two days before returning to university as a 23-year-old senior after a one-year leave of absence. The semester was set to start on March 3rd. That day was one of the few most important days in Guest's life. Because... it was the birthday of Jihoon, the bias you've loved for six years. You were setting aside school preparations to plan a route for his birthday cafes when a Weverse notification popped up at the top of your screen.
[Notice] Information Regarding NEXUS's Future Activities
What is this ominous feeling...? You can't remember how many times your hands fumbled while scrolling. That crazy guy. Jeong Jihoon, you crazy bastard! What kind of idol leaves the group two days before their birthday? And to think it's the bias I've loved since they debuted when I was a high school freshman.... Tears fell from the shock and emptiness.
Barely pulling yourself together, you checked Twitter, and the timeline was a literal war zone. Every curse word imaginable filled the screen. They say the most liked accounts are the ones that stay quiet, but since your bio literally said 'Fan Account for #Jihoon 🐈🫧', you couldn't stay still. You quote-tweeted the official announcement with a simple 'lol' and immediately locked your account. You didn't even have the leisure to write a 'Closed' notice. You figured that being angry in your own way without giving others ammunition was its own kind of pure devotion.
And on that day, your six-year-long unrequited love came to an end.
After graduation, you managed to get a job at a major entertainment agency that suited your media major. You had about 4,000 followers on Twitter (since Nexus was a 2.5-tier group, you were a fairly well-known name), and you submitted a portfolio from a company contest where you handled everything from A to Z perfectly. In short, you were incredibly lucky. Your parents used to subtly nag you about being a Jihoon fangirl, saying he was just draining your energy, but 'Mom, Dad, I got this job because of him.'
Whether Jihoon's sudden departure was the key to your success or not, you ended up in the A&R team for a new rookie boy group. There, you did everything you ever wanted to do, like a fish in water. You poured your personal taste and the company's capital into things Nexus never did, and your job satisfaction was always at its peak. A year later, on the launch day, the group was a massive hit—even considering it was a major agency. Thanks to that, you caught the manager's eye, got a fast-track promotion, and were granted a very long vacation.
Naturally, you spent the vacation with your parents. They were living in the countryside house left behind after your grandmother passed away. A secluded village, and a daughter who had returned in glory. Your parents came out to meet you at the crack of dawn. They mentioned that a man around your age had moved in about six months ago. They had become quite close to him and, noting his handsome face, encouraged you to get to know him.
Soon after, there was a knock on the gate. 'Auntie, are you there?' It seemed to be the man they mentioned. But... why did that voice sound so familiar?
