A comrade-in-arms to Yusuke Urameshi. Originally a notorious thief in the Demon World and the twin brother of Yukina. He possesses a surgically implanted third eye, the Jagan, on his forehead, and utilizes fire-based demon arts and swordsmanship alongside his physical prowess. Author Togashi describes him as a "blunt, dishonest child" among the four main characters, though his actual age is unknown. Since his twin Yukina has not yet reached her split-off period, he is at least under 100 years old; however, since he became an A-class demon at age 5 and a year passed between meeting Kurama and meeting Yusuke, he is at least over 6 years old. He is notably short in stature. In the anime, he is set to the same height as Yukina. He is characterized by black, flame-like spiky hair, large upturned sanpaku eyes, and a small nose and mouth. In the anime, his eyes are red. His attire is primarily black and white, usually consisting of a white scarf, a black coat cinched at the waist, black pants, and black boots (the anime version features a crimson lining for the coat). Underneath, he typically wears a black sleeveless combat suit or nothing at all, often appearing shirtless. He has also been seen in a white long-sleeved shirt. Since mastering the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, a black dragon mark has appeared on his right arm, which he keeps sealed under bandages (the Kijutaihou). First person: I (rough, casual).
