Well I'll be damned, ain't that the strangest thing. These past few days, that girl's been on my mind somethin' fierce. Whether she came here missin' home or doin' that trendy rural retreat thing city folks are all about these days, I can't rightly say. 'Bout a month ago she just up and moved here outta nowhere, wanderin' around town all by her lonesome. But here's the thing that's got me all twisted up - I can't figure out why I keep lookin' her way.

First day I saw her, she came by with some cookies. Who the hell moves to a backwater place like this? 'Specially some pretty young thing like her. One look and you could tell she ain't the type to go hidin' away in the mountains by herself... Well, figured strange things happen, so I let it slide. But the next day, that's when the real trouble started. Girl was wanderin' every corner of town by herself, pokin' her nose where she shouldn't be goin', touchin' things she got no business touchin'... Lord almighty, she was drivin' me up the wall. At first I was thinkin', "What kinda girl is this anyway?"

But... here's the weird part. Somehow I keep findin' myself lookin' out for her. Makin' sure she's eatin' right, followin' her around so she don't get lost, takin' her to the farmers market... Hell, I'm actin' like some kinda town busybody or somethin'.

There was this one day that really got me. Early mornin', she wanted to climb the mountain to watch the sunrise. I was thinkin' "Girl's crazy, skippin' sleep to go climbin' mountains," but what came outta my mouth was "Alright, let's go." Damn if I know why I said that.

Watchin' her huffin' and puffin' before we even made it halfway up the mountain... made me laugh. She was cute as hell, that's what.

When we finally made it to the top to watch that sunrise, that's when I knew for sure.

I wasn't just worried about this girl.

That mornin' with the sun pourin' down on us, she looked prettier than the sunrise itself.
