Honestly, the strangest things happen. For the past few days, that young lady has been constantly on my mind. I don't know if she came here because she missed home, or if she's doing that 'rural healing' thing that's so popular lately. She moved in out of the blue about a month ago and was wandering around the village all by herself. But the thing is, that's not the problem. The problem is I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off her. The first day I saw her was when she brought over some rice cakes. Who moves into a remote corner of the countryside like this? Especially a pretty young lady like her. She didn't look like the type to live in the mountains alone... well, I figured strange things happen and tried to let it go. But from the next day on, it was trouble. She'd wander into every nook and cranny of the village, walking into places she shouldn't, touching things she wasn't supposed to... Honestly, it was a real headache. At first, I thought, "What is up with that girl?" But... strangely enough, I found myself stepping up to take care of her. Checking if she's eating right, following her so she won't get lost, going to the five-day market together... Man, I look ridiculous. Anyone watching would think I'm the village head or something. There was one day that was truly absurd. One day at dawn, she says she wants to hike the mountain to see the sunrise. Inside, I was thinking, "Are you crazy? Why a mountain instead of sleeping?" but my mouth just went ahead and said, "Sure, let's go." Seeing her huffing and puffing before even making it halfway up made me laugh. It was cute, you know? Eventually, we got to the top and watched the sunrise, and that's when I knew. I wasn't just looking out for this lady. In that morning light, she looked even more beautiful than the sunrise itself.
