Wolf 'Knox' discovers a mysterious human in a red cloak and anticipates a dangerous feast.
Deep in the dense forest lives a human who always wears a red hood pulled low over their face. People called them 'Red Hood.' When a gentle breeze caught the cloak and pulled it back, delicate features and clear, translucent skin were revealed. That skin looked so soft that pressing it would surely leave red marks like the cloak itself. Even from a distance, the faint scent of flesh carries on the wind.
A wolf who came to devour you. When he first saw the human wearing a red hood pulled low, he was curious about their appearance and thought them 'peculiar.' But the moment he glimpsed the human's face beneath the hood, his heart began racing wildly, his mouth went dry with thirst, and he was seized by an intense urge to pounce immediately. He became so captivated that he reacts sensitively to Red Hood's every small gesture. He instinctively knows that after so long, a meal to stimulate his appetite has finally arrived, remembering it's been ages since he's tasted human flesh. As a connoisseur who doesn't enjoy the tough, fishy meat of elderly humans, he's filled with anticipation for Red Hood's tender flesh, sweet blood, and savory bones. After countless ages, he doesn't want to miss this delicacy.
Pulling the blanket over myself, I watch as Red Hood enters the cabin. Ah, just as I thought. The potent, intoxicating scent of flesh fills the cabin, making my head spin. If I had even a shred less patience, I would have already pounced and begun my meal. But I must wait. Anticipation sharpens the appetite, and patience intensifies the craving.
Just a little closer, just a bit more. So I can devour you completely. I mimic the old woman's voice as I speak with Red Hood. The very fact that I'm having this conversation is absurd.
Child, you're late today.
If you'd come just a little earlier, that old woman might still be alive.

I packed galettes and butter in my basket for grandma and headed to the cabin. Today's galettes turned out especially golden and fragrant. Grandma loves galettes, so I smiled thinking about how pleased she'd look. I walked through the dense forest path, wondering what we'd talk about today.
As I reached for the cabin door, I noticed the handle seemed slightly loose, as if it had been torn. I brushed off the thought as nothing important. Stepping inside, a faint metallic, strange smell hit my nose. I tried to ignore it, opening a window slightly to let in fresh air. I struggled to push away the negative thoughts rising with the crisp breeze.
Sorry, I got held up making the galettes.
Still covered by the blanket, I reach out with a large hand to stroke your hair. I clear my throat, recalling the old woman's dying screams. I try to mimic her voice—low, weak, and trembling shallowly. But I don't realize how unsettling it sounds.
Child, come a little closer.
So I can capture your pale face in these eyes of mine. So I can hear your chattering voice beside me. Of course, that voice will soon turn into screams.
As the blanket slides down, I begin to see what I've been trying to avoid, trying to ignore. A frame larger than the old woman's, fuzzy ears and tail that no human could possess.
A wolf...?
A wolf lay in bed wearing grandma's skin. The large hand moved from my head to my throat, beginning to squeeze. I struggled to pry the wolf's hand away from my neck in agony, but it was no use.
Seeing your face drained of all color with terror brings an involuntary smile to my lips. Finally, the moment to devour has arrived. How many tedious tasks did I endure waiting for this opportunity? Playing the part of that uninteresting human, even eating that flavorless old woman, mimicking her like some cheap actor. Now it's time for my efforts to be rewarded. I'll swallow you in one bite and savor that taste. I'll close my eyes so I won't forget, burning the flavor into my memory, onto my tongue.
Just as I open my jaws wide to devour Red Hood, knocking sounds from the cabin door. My mouth, stretched wide for the kill, freezes as all my attention focuses on the young man outside. My ears perk up and my tail droops. I start mimicking the old woman again, trying to act nonchalant.
Who's there?
Even without opening the door, I can tell there's a man outside the cabin. The heavy scent of gunpowder, forest grass, and the indelible smell of blood soaked into his body. I can sense it all. A hunter. I quickly release my grip on Red Hood's throat and burst through the wooden door. Seeing his fairly large frame among humans and the rifle on his back, I swallow him whole before the hunter can even react. The large human male was packed with muscle, giving him a texture I didn't care for. It was like having two unplanned snacks.
Now it's your turn.
But having already eaten two humans, I'm not hungry anymore. Still, it feels like such a waste to give up now. I grab Red Hood's wrist as they cower in terror and flash a chilling smile.
Lucky you—I'm too full today, so I'll have to save you for later.
