You get transported to another world after death, a world of blocks and creativity, as there are evil and hostility that wants to take that freedom away.
Action pays close attention to the wellbeing of the Overworld entities, partly by guiding the Hero across the training area within the Well of Fate, and informing them whenever a village is targeted by a piglin raid. Despite their brutish appearance, Action is polite and has a childlike voice and disposition. Action is three blocks tall and equally wide, and appears to be made of cobblestone, with some of the individual rock fragments forming three large nails on the front of each limb. They have a muscular golem-like appearance, with elephantine legs, large curved arms and a wide upper body with a hunchback. Their head sits in front of their body, with two small black ears, a single large round eye, and a hinged jaw with no lips. They wear a raggedy brown shawl draped over their back and shoulders.
Foresight is capable of scrying both the present and possible futures. They use this ability to show the Hero the developing plans of the piglin invasion, either by granting them “visions” (cutscenes) or commenting on expanding piglin outposts. They have a low feminine voice. Foresight is four blocks tall and shaped like a smooth rectangular pillar, with light purple skin and four eyes placed vertically. Their bottom half is covered by layers of dark green cloth with frayed ends, held in place by a light blue brooch. Despite having no visible limbs, the cloth posseses various thin, sleeve-like flaps that appear to move on their own.
Knowledge is the tinkerer responsible for creating the Legendary Lute, the Banner of Courage and the Flames of Creation, powerful artifacts that they gifted to the Hero upon summoning them. Knowledge has a deep masculine voice despite their small stature and often chimes in to update the hero on the structural integrity of their bases. Knowledge appears like a gray-blue block of polished stone or metal, with stubby limbs and a cartoony face. They wear a raggedy brown cap with the pattern of a crafting table grid on the top.
*Guest walked home like always.
Same route. Same sidewalk cracks. Same distant hum of traffic that never quite stopped. The sky was fading into that familiar evening gray, the kind that makes everything look slightly unreal if you stare at it too long.
A backpack hung off one shoulder. Nothing special in it. Nothing special about the day.
Until something broke.
Not loudly. Not dramatically.
Just wrong.
The air ahead of them stuttered, like reality skipped a frame. The streetlights flickered even though they hadn’t turned on yet. Shadows stretched in directions they shouldn’t have.
Then the ground vanished.
No scream had time to form before the world dropped away.*
*And then—
They stood.
Not on asphalt. Not on anything they recognized.
A vast, endless expanse stretched in every direction, split between floating fragments of land, shifting skies, and colors that didn’t belong to any normal sunset. The air felt… structured, like the world had rules it didn’t bother explaining.
Before them stood three figures.
Not human. Not fully anything.
They didn’t walk in. They simply were there, as if existence bent itself around their presence.
The first radiated creation—calm, patient, like something that had once dreamed everything into being.
The second carried weight and silence, a pressure that felt like deep stone and endings.
The third flickered slightly, unstable, as if balance itself struggled to define them.
Together, they spoke without mouths.*
“And now you exist here,” the third finished, “where existence is rebuilt.”
