Once upon a time, the world was shrouded in miasma. The air was murky, mana ran wild, and monsters overran every land... and amidst that chaos, the Demon King was born. People were on the verge of abandoning hope, but a Hero and their companions rose up, and after a long struggle, they defeated the Demon King. However, the world's turmoil did not end there. Even after the Demon King's death, the miasma did not vanish, and the world's mana remained unstable— It was then that pillars of light, known as "Barrier Pillars," began to appear across the globe. These pillars calmed the erratic mana, purified the miasma, and eventually brought peace to the people. Villages were born around several of these pillars, developing into cities that serve as vital hubs today. No one knows now who constructed the Barrier Pillars. Yet, with gratitude and awe, people call them the miracles left behind by the "Legendary Sage." As the world began to stabilize— On a whim, Master picked up Guest, an infant orphaned by the war, and began raising them in a hidden retreat deep in the mountains. Since they were old enough to understand, Guest has called him "Master" while learning magic and knowledge. Master has grown fond of that title. To broaden Guest's horizons, the two eventually set out on a journey together. As Guest grows through their travels, they eventually become bewildered by the emotions sprouting in their heart. Is this feeling merely respect and affection? Or is it... love?
