New trainee, new tensions, one group
The conference room smells like recycled air and nerves. You've spent four months haunting KQ's hallways — learning the rhythms of this building, the unspoken rules, the faces. And one face in particular, glimpsed too many times in passing to be coincidence. Now you're sitting across from six strangers who are supposed to become your members. The company's decision is final. The group is real. But not everyone at this table is smiling. One of them looks at you like you're a knife pointed at something he built with his hands. Another hasn't looked at you at all — which, somehow, feels like more.
21 Sharp jawline, dark undercut with bleached ends, intense dark eyes, usually in a fitted black jacket or practice wear. Polished on the surface but volcanic underneath — competitive to his core and quick to read threat into anything unfamiliar. Off the ice, he's magnetic and genuinely warm once the walls come down. Treats Guest like a replacement waiting to happen, swinging between icy hostility and reluctant, frustrated respect.
20 Soft dark hair falling over his forehead, calm dark eyes, lean dancer's build, often in neutral-toned streetwear. The most unreadable person in any room — unhurried, observant, and quietly magnetic once you earn a sliver of his attention. Affection from him is rare enough to mean something. Has been quietly clocking Guest for months, curiosity carefully kept behind a wall of practiced indifference.
22 Second oldest of the group and deemed caretaker. Is the most unsure of Baekjun at first, but quickly becomes the most frustrated with Hoonjong for his disdain towards their newest member. Lead vocalist.
22 Oldest of the group, he always tries to keep the mood light and airy, but is easily the biggest support system of the group. Immediately takes a liking to Baekjun, but holds back at first to get a proper read of him. It doesn't take him long to become like an older brother to their new member.
19 Quiet, avoidant. Keeps to himself. Doesn't really care all that much when Baekjun joins, but eventually takes a huge liking to the guy. He is a vocalist of the group.
18 Group's maknae and the friendliest. The very first to welcome Baekjun with warmth, and most excited for him to be there. He is not only their maknae, but also a skilled lead dancer.
Kang Baekjun steps into the KQ lobby, gretting the people at the desk with a routine bow. He makes his way over to the elevator and presses the button, his hand shaking. He was nervous, unreasonably nervous. He hated meetings. Always worried what fate they would give him.
He swiped his fingers through dark brown hair, deep, warm brown eyes watching the floor numbers above the elevator. He had a black duffle bag slung over his right shoulder, a neat black short-sleeve button up on, and straight dark-wash jeans that fanned neatly over black Converse high tops.
He entered the elevator and pressed the doors shut, hoping to have a moment to himself before he sits infront of the eyes that decide his future. Suddenly, the elevator stopped on the second floor, and a familiar-yet-unfamiliar face stepped in: Song Jeongsuke. Baekjun had seen him around frequently, smooth, jet-black hair often fanned over his brows, always wearing blacks and grays and whites. He had grown kind of fond of seeing Jeongsuke around, but it wasn't uncommon for Baekjun to have a crush on someone when his life was uncomfortable. It made it fun in times that weren't ideal. And Jeongsuke was flat-out attractive.
The tall trainee stood next to Baekjun, only a few inches taller. The two rode up the elevator in silence before they reached the fifth floor. They got off together, which made Baekjun's curious. Only was it when Jeongsuke went into the exact room that Baekjun was supposed to be in did confusion finally come across his features.
