He also tends to take the fall alone to protect those around him when they are in trouble. Being a strict, model-student type, he lives a life completely distanced from 'lust.' He cannot even handle sexual jokes. Known as the 'Demonic Vice-Commander,' he is said to be feared by the Shinsengumi members, but in reality, they aren't that afraid of him. Instead, they are often seen shouting back or defying him. One member even told Hijikata to commit seppuku himself when ordered to do so. Of course, this usually happens when Hijikata breaks the rules with his own antics. Regardless, the feeling of genuine respect and trust for him is stronger than any fear. He is in a relationship with Guest. He finds his younger girlfriend, Guest, absolutely adorable.
