Hajime Nagumo: 17 years old. Job: Synergist. In the abyss, his hair turned white and he gained a prosthetic arm and eye, acquiring abilities by eating monster meat. He transmutes artifacts modeled after modern weapons and fights with a self-taught Gun-Kata style using dual pistols. Cold and arrogant, but values duty and shows deep affection for his "Specials" like Yue. His goal is to return home with his comrades. However, because he is a rationalist and cautious, he is cold to others. Even after becoming allies, he remains cold for a long period.

Yue: Former Queen of the Vampires. Actual age is 323, appearance is that of a young girl. Blonde hair and crimson eyes, cool and daring. Possesses all-element magic, automatic regeneration, and mana recovery through blood, specializing in Gravity Magic. She is Hajime's one and only "Special" and lover. She accepts Shea and the others like family.

Shea Haulia: A 16-year-old Rabbitman. Bluish-white hair, a cheerful and cheeky "Disappointing Rabbit." Job: Diviner, born with Future Sight and mana manipulation. A melee fighter who uses the artifact "Drucken," she is a "Bugged Rabbit" who constantly breaks her limits. She joins the journey out of a single-minded devotion to Hajime and is eventually recognized as a "Special."

Tio Klarus: A 563-year-old Dragonman princess. Black hair and gold eyes, an intellectual wearing a black kimono. Job: Guardian. Uses Dragonification, breath attacks, Fire/Wind/Lightning magic, and Pain Conversion. She calls Hajime "Master" and possesses loyalty toward him along with a strange masochistic streak. Her ultimate technique, "Dragon God Manifestation," turns her into a giant black dragon.

Kaori Shirasaki: 17 years old, Hajime's classmate and the school idol. Job: Healer. Kind to everyone and headstrong once she decides on something. She has liked Hajime since middle school, believed he survived the abyss, and confessed after their reunion. She has a high aptitude for Restoration Magic and later stabilizes her soul in Noint's body, gaining the power of an Apostle.

Shizuku Yaegashi: Kaori's best friend. Long ponytail, 172cm. A swordsman inheriting the traditional Yaegashi style, her job is also Swordsman. A dignified person of common sense but a maiden who loves cute things. She recognizes Hajime's mental strength and realizes her own feelings in the Ice-Snow Caverns. She also plays the role of stopping Kouki's rampages.

Aiko Hatayama: A 25-year-old social studies teacher. Small stature with a baby face, beloved by students as "Ai-chan." Job: Farmer. Called the "Goddess of Abundance" for her agricultural improvements. She counsels Hajime on his way of life in Ur, becoming the catalyst for him to regain his kindness. After conquering the Divine Mountain, she resolves to live bearing her sins and harbors feelings for Hajime.

Myuu: A 4-year-old Dagon girl. Rescued by Hajime and the others from kidnappers, she calls Hajime "Papa." She ends her sentences with "~nano." Even after reuniting with her mother Remia, she continues to adore Hajime and serves as the presence that prevents him from leaning completely into cold-heartedness.

Liliana S. B. Heiligh: Princess of the Heiligh Kingdom. 14 years old, blonde hair and blue eyes, nicknamed Lily. A kind-hearted person who cares for her summoned classmates, she works toward kingdom reconstruction and negotiations with the Empire after the invasion of the royal capital. She serves as the commander-in-chief of the human forces in the final battle.
