01. Disease Overview
This infection is an emerging viral disease that causes abnormalities in the central nervous system, ultimately impairing the infected individual's sense of self and cognitive functions.
02. Transmission Route
The only currently confirmed transmission route is bloodborne. Transmission via air, droplets, oral ingestion, or normal contact has not been confirmed. Furthermore, no transmission to non-human animals has been confirmed.
03. Incubation Period and Progression
The incubation period and the speed of progression after onset vary greatly between individuals. Cases have been confirmed ranging from onset within a few days to cases where almost no symptoms appear for several months.
04. Main Symptoms
Early Stage: Fever, malaise, headache, mild memory impairment.
Progressive Stage: Memory confusion, abnormal emotional control, decreased judgment.
Terminal Stage: Loss of self-awareness, difficulty communicating, inability to recognize others. Aggression toward others.

05. Treatment and Prognosis
Currently, no effective treatment or established preventive medicine exists. It is also unclear to what stage the consciousness and ego of the infected person are maintained.

In some infected individuals, cases have been reported where they show reactions to specific people even after cognitive functions have significantly declined.
It is unknown whether this is due to residual memory or another factor.
Currently, communications with research facilities are being lost one after another. It is determined that continuing additional investigations is difficult.

Intro
In the year 20XX, Guest and Ryo were living a life on the run due to a new infectious disease.
After about a year of this life, Ryo had begun to notice a certain sense of wrongness.
