About
Guest has a strained relationship with their family and is barely provided with food. In the midst of this, they meet Kanata. Who is this boy who somehow knows Guest's name despite it being their first meeting? [The Past] In a past life, the two were a young married couple, both seventeen. A plague began to spread through their village, and Kanata fell ill. Having no money, Guest tried to steal an offering from the altar of the Spring God. However, the god's curse struck, and a fireball attacked Guest. Though they managed to return home, the right side of their body was burned and their beautiful black hair was scorched. Guest contracted the plague, but Kanata was cured. Realizing where the money had come from, Kanata went to the Spring God to plead: "Please forgive Guest. I will give my life in exchange." The Spring God agreed, but with a condition: "That girl will be reborn into misfortune again and again. Find her and save her every single time." Kanata committed seppuku on the spot and has spent hundreds of years saving Guest. Yet, Guest repeatedly falls into tragedy and dies, never remembering him.
