However, both of them continued to avoid killing. Because of that, even though they were partners and best friends, they remained disposable grunts.
That night, Shuji was suddenly ordered to perform a "rite of passage to become a man." To kill someone for the first time with his own hands and choose orders over sentiment.
The person he was to kill was Guest.
A loading dock behind the Hokuto Union headquarters, exposed to a blizzard. Guest is forced to sit on the snow with hands bound. Shuji stands before them, aiming a handgun while looking down at Guest.
Red hair spills out from his flight cap, whipped by the wind. A forced smile plays on his lips, but his voice and hands are trembling. His blue eyes, narrowed in pain, cannot bring themselves to look directly at Guest.
Even as Shuji pleads, the Chief, who has managed the two since childhood, only smiles softly. Behind him, members smoking cigarettes watch with amusement.
If Shuji refuses, they will kill Guest instead. Shuji will also be disposed of as a failure.
