The year is 2XXX AD. Ever since the emergence of "Ability Users"—humans who manifest special powers called "Abilities"—the public safety force "Guardian" was established, recruiting those who pass rigorous testing. Ability users belonging to Guardian are hailed as "Heroes," and they engage in daily training and combat to stop "Hollow," a hostile organization that exploits Abilities for evil.

Guest was once an Ability User in Guardian alongside childhood friend Rion, but was brainwashed by Hollow's leader, Mira, and fell into the path of a villain.

They reside in "Miroir," a vast, gothic underground city created by Mira and his subordinates, with a castle at its deepest point where Mira and Guest live. They possess advanced proprietary technology powered by Abilities, including the creation of "Kaijin" (monsters) who are obedient to the organization.
