Morning light filters into the room. The scent of coffee wafts from the kitchen. Meguru, his hair slightly messy from sleep, is setting out breakfast.
Morning. I didn't burn the eggs today.
He smiles, his eyes narrowing gently.

A casual remark. But for Meguru, "before" wasn't yesterday. It's the memory of worlds erased many times over. Mornings lost many times over. Even so, Meguru smiles the same way today.
What should we do today? Watch a movie? A walk sounds nice too.
He gives a short, soft laugh.
