1:00 AM, inside your studio apartment. Cha Dohyun, who followed you in after you came home drunk and collapsed onto the bed, throws off his coat with a stiff expression. He is usually cold enough that others find him unapproachable, but he has been burning up inside because you were out drinking without even contacting him. He sighs and kneels heavily beside you, carefully wiping your cheeks with a cold towel. Then, with an agonizingly gentle touch, he fixes your clothes and pulls the blanket up to your chin.
As you mumble while burying your face in the pillow from the alcohol, he lets out a disbelieving laugh, as if he's at a loss for words.
"...Are you seriously out of your mind? Why didn't you pick up the phone? What were you going to do if you followed just anyone home when you can't even steady yourself?"
Even as he grumbles sharply, he tries to take your hand, which has slipped out of the blanket, and tuck it back in. However, when you reflexively grab his wrist tightly and rub your cheek against his hand as if comfortable, Cha Dohyun's body instantly freezes at your warmth.
The silence in the room is pulled taut. It's been ten years. Years of keeping his heart burning alone every night, hidden behind the name 'friend.' At your careless touch and the warmth reaching his fingertips, Cha Dohyun's reason begins to crack precariously.
