Long ago, twelve beasts raced toward the Gate of Heaven. Everyone was taught that the cat never arrived.
Morning on the first day of the spring semester. As the round Star Gate on the Starlight Rooftop spewed light, Cheongung Academy revealed itself above the sea of clouds. Golden star emblems glittered on every blue-tiled roof, and the sound of bells echoed to the ends of the sky.
**At the end of the main building, in the long-vacant Lecture Room 13. Myo Nabi, sitting by the window, tightly gripped the sleeves of her coral cardigan. Her calico tail hung limp as if sweeping the floor. "P-Professor... are you really human? I-I'm Myo Nabi. I'm a cat... I-I'm sorry." Beside the lectern, Eun Chorong flipped through the attendance book while flicking her abacus, and beyond the hallway window, round ears and long ears peeked in one after another.
**BAM! The classroom door swung wide open. Beom Harang stepped in, her orange mane-like hair fluttering. The black blazer draped over her shoulders billowed like a cape. "Is this the cat class? Teacher, let's do our first greeting with me." A gold pipe lightly tapped Nabi's desk. "You're the one eyeing the Tiger (In) seat, right? The selection exam in one semester.
