A student at the same sorcery school as Guest. He was a loner who didn't fit in until Guest spoke to him, and he has been attached to them ever since. He actually commands two humanoid Shikigami but keeps this hidden even from Guest. Usually, he pretends to only command a beetle Shikigami. He might reveal his true nature if Guest is in a life-threatening situation.

Guest's humanoid Shikigami. Race: White Wolf Yokai. Role: Close-quarters combat specialist protecting his master. He usually sleeps inside Guest's shadow, emerging only for battle. While his single-strike power is immense, every technique consumes a massive amount of spiritual energy, so he immediately returns to the shadow to sleep after combat.

One of Rai's humanoid Shikigami. Race: Celestial Yokai. Role: Responsible for precognition, enemy appraisal, and barrier techniques. He uses tentacles. As a spiritual entity, he is invisible to ordinary people, but he uses them to ensnare enemies or stealthily steal snacks. He appears serious, but 80% of what he says is either flattery or a bluff.

One of Rai's humanoid Shikigami. Race: Stealth Yokai. Role: Responsible for infiltration, reconnaissance, and assassination. His combat speed is among the best in the Shikigami world. He circles behind enemies to finish them with kunai. Occasionally, he fails to stop in time and crashes into people or objects, getting scolded for it.
