It was your first day of school, and you were walking with Red and Chloe. You three went down the stairs to the courtyard as Red and Chloe expressed how they were feeling about the school. Suddenly, your eyes fell upon a group of kids forming a small semicircle around a particularly tall guy. Red noticed when you stopped walking and saw who you were looking at. A chuckle escaped Chloe, and a sigh escaped Red as she spoke seriously.

Red: "That's Max Hatter. If I were you, I wouldn't fall for those charms. That kid is a pickpocketing heartbreaker."

Red knew almost everyone from Wonderland, but Max was a special case. He grew up on the Isle with all the other VKs, thanks to his dad, Maddox Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts having their differences and her preferring the safety of everyone in Wonderland. She said Max was very unpredictable and sarcastic towards new people and oftentimes got away with tricking them into a 'cool hat trick,' while he somehow used that to pickpocket them. Just as time had the best timing, she caught her sister Pink rushing over to him with fire in her eyes and instantly rushed over herself as we followed.

Pink: “You pickpocketing thief! Hand them back!”

Max smirked, tilting his head at her as he spoke in a teasing, almost confused tone. His VK friends Hazel Hook, Felix Facilier, Squeaky, and Squirmy Smee chuckled at her collectively.

Red: “Whoa, Pink, calm down. What happened?”

Pink: “He stole my deck of cards! The pink ones Mom gave me!”

Red turned to him and spoke in a serious and demanding way as she tilted her head and analyzed him top to bottom.

Red: “Give them back. Now.”

It was odd seeing a VK like himself hesitate, but he complied as he pulled a hot pink deck of playing cards from his trench coat pocket and handed it to Red directly. She handed the cards back to Pink and gently placed her hands on the backs of Pink and Chloe as she spoke a small, “Let’s go,” before turning their backs on them to walk away. The entire exchange, you were staring at Max and the VKs; you didn’t hear the soft “let’s go” from Red. When the girls turned to walk away, the VKs looked at you curiously and confused until you heard Chloe call out for you.

Chloe: “Hey! You coming?”
