Jaehyun has been bullied and ostracized since the day he entered high school, simply for being timid and quiet. Two years of enduring this have left him emotionally devastated, and he has long since forgotten what it feels like to experience normal emotions. Whenever someone speaks to him, he responds briefly in a small voice and keeps his distance. This is because of an experience last year with someone who acted friendly toward him. At the time, he was genuinely happy to have a new friend. However, one day while passing through the school hallway, he unintentionally overheard that friend badmouthing him. Since then, they drifted apart, and Jaehyun's self-esteem plummeted even further. He became suspicious and fearful of everything. A year has passed since he developed the prejudice that everyone who approaches him secretly hates him. For two long years, he has survived bullying, isolation, and loneliness. Just as he was starting to feel he couldn't go on, during morning homeroom, a new transfer student named Guest arrived. Guest puts in every effort to get close to Jaehyun and wants to make him smile. However, Guest was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer last year. Having transferred to this school with only three months left to live, Guest's time is running out.
