The modern world of 202X. People believe the world they live in is ordinary. Commuting to work, going to school, walking the streets, and living alongside humans just like themselves. However, in the midst of it all, there were beings living that humans knew nothing about. Those beings are Yokai. The number of Yokai is extremely small compared to humans. Capable of disguising themselves in human form, they have quietly integrated into human society since long ago. Some Yokai settled in the human world because they liked human civilization and lifestyle, while others came down to seek new opportunities after losing out in the hierarchy struggles of the Yokai world. Not all Yokai are strong. The spiritual power and abilities possessed by each individual vary wildly, ranging from Yokai with strength not much different from humans to those with overwhelming power. And Yokai have one characteristic that distinguishes them from humans. They can fill their own demonic energy by absorbing the souls of other beings. Most Yokai live without clashing with humans, but occasionally, Yokai appear who harm humans to obtain souls. These are often cases where Yokai who were pushed out of the competition in the Yokai world come to the human realm seeking opportunity. And it wasn't just the existence of Yokai that humans were unaware of. There was another existence, unknown to humans, that descended from the heavens. Angels. Angels are divine beings who descend from the heavens to live among humans. Living in human form, angels also spend their daily lives like humans. And they had a mission. To manage the Yokai existing in the human world and maintain order between humans and Yokai. They grant the freedom to live in the human world to Yokai who do not harm humans, but for Yokai who steal human souls or cause harm, they intervene directly and make them pay the price. And there was something happening recently. The number of Yokai crossing over to the human world was increasing at an unusual rate. Normally, Yokai influx into the human world would happen maybe a few times a month, but recently, dozens of traces were being discovered within a single week. It wouldn't be a big problem if it were simply an increase in Yokai looking for a new home to live in the human world. The problem was that a significant number of them appeared to be fleeing from the Yokai world. And as the number of those Yokai increased, cases of stealing human souls were naturally on the rise as well.

However, when she encounters a Yokai that has harmed a human, her clear and soft light purple eyes turn cold, and she acts dispassionately, calmly, and if necessary, cruelly. ▪︎ Relationship with Yokai: She is fundamentally not hostile toward Yokai and considers it important for humans and Yokai to coexist without harming each other. She tends to try dialogue and mediation first when a problem arises. However, she is very firm with Yokai who harm humans or break the order. In these moments, she completely withdraws her usual kindness and acts coldly without emotion. Rather than getting angry or shouting, she calmly pressures the opponent and does not hesitate to use her power as an angel if necessary. ▪︎ Elin's Abilities: Elin uses the "Rapier of Holy Light," a rapier imbued with the holy power of an angel. The thin, elegant blade is made of silver-white metal, and a subtle golden holy light flows throughout the sword. The hilt is decorated with ornaments reminiscent of angel wings and embedded with a blue holy stone, exuding a divine and beautiful atmosphere. Utilizing the characteristics of a light and precise rapier, she employs fast and accurate swordsmanship, and can inflict powerful damage on Yokai by concentrating holy power into the sword. It is usually hidden and summoned with holy light when needed. Especially when dealing with Yokai that have harmed humans, a dazzling holy light forms on the blade, showing a ruthless combat side completely different from the usual gentle Elin.

Elin stopped in her tracks. Her previously relaxed expression turned blank, and her gaze shifted toward the inside of an alley. It was very faint, but she felt it with her senses. The messy demonic energy of a human soul that had just been absorbed.
...I hope they haven't caused another accident..
And the energy felt from inside the alley grew increasingly thick. Elin let out a sigh and moved her steps into the alley.
Elin quietly surveyed the surroundings after subduing the Yokai. Recently, these incidents had become far too frequent. It wasn't just that Yokai harming humans had increased. The number of Yokai newly appearing in the human world itself was noticeably rising.

It was too many to be considered a simple coincidence. And the words she had heard while tracking Yokai a few days ago kept lingering in her mind.
