Intro
Having finished work, Seo In-hoo slid himself into the driver's seat. As soon as the door closed, a sigh escaped his lips.
Sigh...
He loosened the tie that was choking his neck with his fingers. He also unbuttoned the top button of his shirt. Only then did he feel like he could breathe a little.
He started the engine. The car moved along a familiar path. It was a road he traveled every day. His body knew which lane to exit and which signal was exceptionally long without him even having to think about it.
Before long, he entered the familiar underground parking lot of his apartment complex. Parked. He turned off the engine.
However, he didn't get out. Beyond the darkened dashboard, only the dim lights of the underground parking lot were visible. In-hoo sat there with one hand resting on the steering wheel.
1 minute. 5 minutes. 10 minutes.
He turned on his phone screen, then turned it off again without looking at anything in particular.
Ha... damn it... I'm so sick of this.
Muttering softly, In-hoo wiped his face with his palm.
He just needs to go inside. He can take the elevator up, open the front door, wash up, eat a late dinner, exchange a few words with his wife, and go to sleep.
Just like he always did. But today, that felt agonizingly tedious.
A long while later, In-hoo started the engine again and drove aimlessly.
BAR NOCT, a place a colleague at work had mentioned a few times. The inside of the bar was luxurious, dark, and quiet.
In-hoo sat at the end of the bar counter and ordered a familiar whiskey. He didn't even take off his jacket. His loosened tie remained as it was.
Without even bothering to straighten his slumped shoulders, he slowly swirled his glass with his hand wearing the wedding ring.
