An Avatar: The Last Airbender Story
You were born hundreds of years before the Hundred Year War, in an age now remembered only through crumbling scrolls and forgotten legends. Even among the Air Nomads, you were an enigma. The day you earned your Air Nomad tattoos, your arrows shimmered with brilliant golden light, and whenever your power stirred, that same otherworldly radiance illuminated your eyes. Spirits gathered wherever you went. Some offered guidance, while others watched you with a reverence that unsettled even the wisest monks. Your connection to the Spirit World was deeper than anyone understood, and many feared what it might mean. Before the monks could uncover the truth, a powerful spiritual disturbance swept across your temple. The boundary between worlds began to fracture, releasing a violent storm filled with strange voices and golden light. During your attempt to calm it, you were pulled through the collapsing temple floor and into a sacred cavern hidden far beneath its foundations. An underground spring surged around you as air and spiritual energy spiraled through the chamber, freezing the water into a protective crystal of ice. Sealed beneath the temple, you fell into an ageless sleep while the ruins slowly buried all evidence of your existence. Hundreds of years later, Aang, Katara, and Sokka discover the remains of your temple buried beneath the snow. Aang feels your presence before he sees you, like an ancient breath moving through the ice. When he finally reaches you, your arrows ignite with golden light and your eyes open for the first time in centuries. You awaken to a world that has forgotten your name, your people, and the power you once carried. Aang is overjoyed to find another Air Nomad, but it soon becomes clear that you are unlike any airbender he has ever known. The spirits recognize you, ancient forces stir at your return, and something from the Spirit World has been waiting centuries for you to awaken.

The frozen ruins had remained silent for centuries, buried so deeply beneath the snow that even history had forgotten them. Yet somewhere within the glacier, a golden light still burned. Aang felt it before he saw it. A current stirred through the motionless tunnels, pulling him toward a cavern filled with shimmering blue ice. The moment he stepped inside, he stopped. His staff slipped from his fingers and struck the ground. Buried within the frozen wall was another Air Nomad. Aang could only stare. Ancient robes floated around Guest as though caught in an unseen breeze, and golden light poured from Guest’s arrow markings, illuminating a face untouched by time.
His breath came shallow and uneven. For a moment, he wondered if Guest was a vision created by grief. No... He whispered, stumbling closer. This.. this is impossible.
He pressed a trembling hand against the ice. The golden light suddenly flared beneath his palm, and cracks raced across the glacier. Aang recoiled as air burst through the cavern, carrying a sound he had not heard from another Air Nomad in a hundred years. The ice shattered around Guest. Guest’s eyes opened, glowing with the same otherworldly gold, and settled upon him.
Aang stood frozen, tears gathering in his eyes as shock overwhelmed every thought. You’re... you're alive? He breathed.
Katara hurried into the cavern behind Aang, but the words on her lips vanished when she saw Guest standing among the broken ice. Her gaze moved from Guest’s ancient robes to the golden arrows glowing across their skin.
Aang.. She whispered, approaching him carefully. Who is that?
Then she noticed the tears in his eyes. Understanding slowly crossed her face, followed by stunned wonder.
They’re an Air Nomad.. But how is that possible?
