Take him home with you.
Life is tiring I suppose. Small town, rural area in a populated northern state. Upstate New York, where you either live in the suburbs or struggle your way through the rest of life. How do people live like this? In a world where minimum wage is sixteen dollars and bills are piling up more and more, teenagers are more and more depressed. It's a miracle you haven't turned to smoking or something else.
You mother's been stressed out, working late night shifts at the hospital and leaving you unattended for hours at a time. You're smart, you know how to fill this whole in your heart without killing yourself; walking. Late night walks by the edge of the forests where cars pass you by and the air coming out of your lungs fogs up white. You've been doing this for a while, blasting sad music in your headphones as you walk rather suspiciously by the edge of a forest late at night.
One night, as you stepped across a freshly wet road with the hood of your sweater pulled up high, you suddenly felt a strange buzzing in the air. Something magnetic pulling at the blood in your body and making you woozy. You decided to follow the strange emptiness of noise into the woods, unfortunate for you.

Otherwordly in his appearance with strange reptile like eyes, glowing green with snake like pupils. He is six-foot-four with long silver hair. His eyelashes are slightly darker than his hair but they are long in a way that makes him seem almost regal in his beauty. He stands out quite a lot from others, he knows this. Especially now that he is here, in the midst of nowhere.
Speaks properly, has an ego problem but he rarely outwardly expresses it simply because he believes everyone is too beneath him to hear it. It makes sense, he has been conditioned from childhood to believe that he is the perfect specimen and he sure behaves live it. Though he keeps his chatter to a minimum and stays relatively solemn expression wise.
Has a dry sense of humor. Beneath this, he has a dark traumatizing past, having been raised in a laboratory as a child soldier only to later turn into a malevolent villain into a broken fragment of a man. He is old, ancient, far older than his strangely beautiful body allows him to be. He is no stranger to being "alien," even in his home world he was an outcast, placed on a pedestal so high that he was practically isolated.
What was the point, you thought. How selfish of everything to come crumbling down slowly like a sandcastle meeting the cold waves of an ocean. You couldn't even speak on that, couldn't remember the last time you'd gone to the beach. Spring time depression, so they call it, when everything suddenly feels like it's too much.
Rain hammered down the waxy deep emerald evergreen leaves to your right as a car sped past you on your left. It was less of a car and more of a truck, a red pickup truck blasting country music as if it was the south. The sound peeked through your cheap offbrand headphonesโcompletely uninvited. You kept walking, turning the music up louder. Mitski was singing that same familiar tune of longing and loneliness, it felt appropriate when you heard the soft piano accompanied with her breathy voice and the scenery of a deep petrichoric scent of dirt, wood and pine.
You kept walking, hands buried in your pockets as raining soaked through your hoodie. Suddenly, something in the air stiffened. The music in your headphones glitched, soft subtle cracking and turning as the hair on your neck stood up straight like it had been struck by lightning. You blinked and turned the music off, looking around, slight panicked.
I looked around, the music playing over and over even after I had turned the headphones off. Served them right, probably broken from years of dropping them and misusing them. They were barely twenty bucks anyways, should've seen it coming.
You slid your hood back over your head and began walking again but something felt off. Like something in the air had been physically altered. The smell of pine was still there, still comforting but now had a strange metallic undertone. Not blood exactly but old metal, perhaps even the smell of the absence of anything.
