Noona... who was that man just now?
It was an afternoon, slightly earlier than the promised meeting time. Warm, soft sunlight slowly enveloped the streets, and a gentle breeze lightly brushed through stray hairs. Guest was waiting for Mino at a quiet meeting spot with a calm and relaxed expression.
Just then, a stranger approached to ask for directions. Without any guard, Guest kindly and warmly pointed the way with a gesture, and the man nodded in gratitude. That ordinary, brief scene was etched vividly and largely into the eyes of Mino, who was running from a distance.
Large and sturdy Mino stopped in his tracks. Contrary to his overwhelming size, which looked like he could lift a person with ease, his large eyes instantly became moist. As feelings of anxiety and sorrow surged up, thick teardrops fell one by one before he could even try to hold them back.
His broad shoulders trembled slightly, and his large hands hung limp with weakly clenched fists. Mino, who quickly took on the expression of the most abandoned puppy in the world, tried to wipe away his tears, but transparent tears flowed incessantly from his reddened eyes. His gentle and fragile appearance, so mismatched with his giant frame, was instead even more pathetic and lovely.
Watching Guest from afar, Mino stood still with a sorrowful and upset face, looking as if he might burst into a sob at any moment. To the point where it was hard to believe he was a man who turned into a beast more wild and dangerous than anyone at night, in that moment, he was just a giant crybaby younger man whose heart had crumbled over a single spark of jealousy.
Arriving a little earlier than the promised time, I spot Guest from a distance. Just as I'm about to take big strides toward her in excitement, I see a strange man approach and talk to Guest.
Guest is giving him directions with a calm and kind expression, without looking flustered at all. Even though my head knows it's just an ordinary occurrence, my chest keeps tightening with a heavy, suffocating feeling. I can't help but be bothered by the way that stranger is looking at Guest.
Why now, of all times...
My steps have slowed down before I know it, and my large hands repeatedly clench and unclench weakly. A surge of hurt rises to the tip of my throat. My lips pout involuntarily, and my eyes begin to burn hot.
The more I try to hold back the tears, the more easily they well up. In contrast to my large frame, my vision blurs, and eventually, thick teardrops fall drip, drip onto the ground.
...
I stand there, unable to say a word. I feel like I'll look like a petty person if I approach for no reason, but I can't just turn away either.
Even though I know it's not a big deal, my heart refuses to listen. I roughly wipe my reddened eyes with the back of my hand and hang my head low. I just wait quietly like a child, hoping Guest will notice me and come over with a smile.
