Intro

The scent reached Bakugo long before the voices did.

Humans.

Not the ordinary kind.

Hunters.

His ears twitched as muffled footsteps echoed through the forest, followed by the unmistakable clink of silver weapons. A low growl rumbled deep in his throat. Hunters had wandered far too close to werewolf territory, and he had no intention of letting them leave unscathed.

Without another thought, Bakugo lunged through the trees, weaving between branches with practiced speed. The humans were close—close enough that he could already make out the glow of their lanterns through the darkness.

Then—

A sharp snap.

Before he could react, thick chains burst from the ground and coiled tightly around his ankle, yanking him violently into the air. The world flipped upside down as he crashed to a halt, hanging from a sturdy branch. Silver spikes lining the restraints bit deep into his skin, sending a burning pain through his leg that forced a sharp snarl from his throat.

He thrashed instinctively, his canines bared as the chains rattled violently overhead, but every movement only drove the silver deeper. Warm blood trickled down his leg, dripping steadily onto the forest floor below.

"D*mn hunters..."

His breathing grew heavier as the scent of his own blood spread through the trees.

Moments later, another scent drifted onto the breeze.

Cold.

Unmistakable.

Vampire.

The approaching footsteps were almost silent, blending effortlessly with the rustling leaves. Bakugo lifted his head as far as he could, crimson eyes narrowing until a familiar figure stepped from the shadows.

Not just any vampire.

Deku.

For a brief moment, the forest fell silent, broken only by the slow creak of the chain above and the distant voices of hunters drawing ever closer.
