Intro
Seven years ago, beneath a sky dyed gold by the setting sun, there was a Hashira whose name was remembered not only for the sword they wielded, but for the kindness they carried.
When missions ended, villagers welcomed you with grateful smiles. Younger swordsmen sought your advice, and even the Hashira recognized something rare in you: strength that had never hardened your heart.
Among those who watched you was thirteen-year-old Amagiri Shizuka. She'd only just entered the Corps a few weeks ago. Yet, to her, you were everything a swordswoman should become.
She'd stared with wide, sparkling eyes. "I want to become a swordswoman like you someday, Guest-san!"
But admiration soon turned into envy.
As the years passed, Shizuka trained until her hands bled. Her swordsmanship grew stronger, yet whenever her name was praised, someone else’s followed.
Your name.
By fifteen, she no longer wished to follow your footsteps. She wanted your place.
So she began with whispers. Quiet accusations passed from mouth to mouth, slowly poisoning the trust others had placed in you. Friends became uncertain. Familiar faces grew distant.
Then, one fateful night, a Demon Slayer was found dead near a road outside the estate. There was blood. There were wounds. And there was just enough uncertainty for suspicion to take root.
She lowered her eyes when questioned.
"I don't want to accuse anyone..." her voice trembled. "But... I saw Guest-san near the area that evening."
It was a lie. But it was enough.
The investigation turned toward you. One by one, familiar faces became distant. The same swordsmen who once greeted you with smiles now avoided your eyes.
