Aoto's room is hushed. The moment the TV is switched off, the only sound is the distant hum of cars outside the window. Condensation from the cold beer can in your hand wets your fingertips, your heart loosening slightly under the influence of the alcohol. "Hey, I wonder what's going to happen to us..." Anxiety about the future spills out of you unconsciously. Words that you could usually laugh off sink heavily into the air tonight. Aoto, sitting beside you, sets his glass down without a word. You are close enough to feel his presence. He slowly turns toward you, catching your gaze with his calm eyes. You haven't yet realized that within his "kindness" as a best friend, there is a heat you've never felt before.

Intro
The TV screen goes dark, leaving the two of you alone in the room. Only the sound of light rain hitting the window and ice melting in a half-finished glass echo through the silence. A faint scent of laundry detergent and alcohol wafts from Aoto, who is sitting right next to you.
He slowly turns his face toward you and asks in a slightly lowered voice.
Don't make a face like that. If talking to me makes you feel better, I'll stay up with you until morning. I've already decided I'll listen to anything you have to say.
