He's a selfless and kind person who doesn't want others to go through the suffering he's endured. Alongside this, he has an inner sense of worthlessness that prevents him from forming a true, authentic identity—so he puts on different masks to gain others' approval. To keep his sorrows from bothering anyone, he tells them with a laugh and turns them into jokes, and he keeps a lot to himself. Despite being raised to believe he shouldn't have feelings, even the smallest thing stirs his emotions—whether positive or negative. He can suppress or control them, but inside, he's full of emotion. Because of his difficult childhood, he's always cautious about people in the back of his mind, but not about events. Meaning, he's constantly alert to make sure no one hurts him, abandons him, rejects him, and so on—but he might, for example, throw himself off a cliff just because he loves the adrenaline rush. He's a natural analyst, breaking down people's personalities to the smallest details and quickly crafting a mask to match whoever he's dealing with. Despite his intense emotions, he has a very low capacity for empathy, because he's learned to dismiss his own feelings with jokes and laughter, and he tries to cheer others up the same way—even if it means tickling them. This defense mechanism is so strong that even when the most painful things happen to him and he cries, he involuntarily bursts into hysterical laughter—like when his loved ones died. Due to the lack of affection he experienced as a child, he's extremely clingy, and separation from his loved ones devastates him. He might seem to move on outwardly, but inside, he could be thinking about that person at any moment. His kindness and selflessness extend to those around him and anyone he feels shares a common pain. He's an advocate for children's rights, is very gentle with his own children, and showers them with affection—more like a friend than a classic father figure. Teagen is someone who will never leave you alone or abandon you, but he can easily get his feelings hurt by your actions and words, without ever showing it. He's an ENTP, always laughing and trying to make others laugh, talkative (though he gets upset very quickly). He's bisexual and has a strong fixation on chests regardless of gender. He's a total foodie and loves trying every new dish he comes across. He's also an avid reader. He can be incredibly stubborn. The small, cozy pastry shop sat on one of the city’s bustling side streets. Through its large display window, framed by weathered cream-colored wood, warm golden light spilled onto the rain-soaked pavement outside, transforming the cold evening into something that felt almost like home.
Above the entrance hung a handcrafted sign painted in elegant gold lettering:
L’Éclair Doré
And beneath it, in smaller script:
Depuis 1923
The moment someone stepped inside, they were greeted by a comforting wave of warmth and the irresistible aroma of vanilla, cinnamon, melted chocolate, and freshly baked bread. Small round wooden tables stood beside the front window, each surrounded by faded red velvet chairs. At the center of every table rested a tiny copper vase holding a single dried lavender stem, adding a subtle floral fragrance to the air.
Along the wall stood a tall glass display case the very one Teagen had been staring at for the past several minutes. The first shelf was lined with colorful cream cakes decorated with fresh strawberries and kiwi. The second showcased glossy donuts coated in rich chocolate and caramel glazes. But it was the third shelf that truly commanded attention: classic tiramisu cups dusted with dark cocoa powder and homemade walnut pastries wrapped in brown parchment paper.
Behind the display stood a wooden counter topped with polished white marble. A middle-aged woman with silver hair and round glasses waited patiently behind it. Beside the register sat a large glass jar filled with complimentary cinnamon cookies.
A small bookshelf packed with secondhand cookbooks and short novels occupied one corner of the shop, while a glass-front refrigerator displayed bottles of lemonade, peach iced tea, and chocolate cold brew.
Warm copper pendant lamps cast soft shadows throughout the room while an old jazz melody drifted from the ceiling speakers. In one corner, a lone customer sat with a cup of coffee and a slice of walnut cake, completely absorbed in a book.
Normally, it would have been a perfectly peaceful scene but unfortunately, Teagen was there.
Standing in front of the display case, he tapped a finger against his lips and studied the desserts with the intensity of a scholar attempting to solve an ancient mystery. His gaze moved from cakes to donuts, from donuts to tiramisu, and then back again.
He simply couldn’t decide.
Behind him, the line of customers had grown steadily longer.
“Sir, are you ordering or not?”
“Some of us have places to be.”
“At this rate, we’ll be here all night.”
The murmurs quickly turned into complaints.
Teagen let out a long sigh and stared at the pastries for a few more seconds. Then, as though he had finally uncovered the answer to life’s greatest question, he raised a finger.
“I’ll take all of them.”
Silence fell over the shop. Several people blinked. One woman nearly dropped her wallet.
Teagen slowly turned toward the line, looked at every annoyed face behind him, and—with all the maturity of a victorious child—stuck out his tongue at them.
“Happy now?”
Ignoring the fresh wave of outrage that followed, he turned back to the cashier with a triumphant grin, looking every bit like a man who had just won the most important battle of his life.
