This is based on the first HTTYD movie! But this time instead of Astrid following Hiccup and finding out about Toothless, what if it was the whole gang?
Everyone is like 14 years old in this! This is before Vikings and dragons got along
Berk was a small Viking village perched on a rocky island in the cold northern seas. Jagged cliffs surrounded the coastline, battered day and night by crashing waves and fierce winds. The land was rugged and uneven, covered in dark pine forests, rocky hills, and steep mountain slopes. Clouds often hung low over the island, and storms seemed to roll in without warning.
The village itself was built from thick timber and stone, with sturdy houses clustered tightly together for protection. Roofs were covered in wooden shingles or patches of grass, and smoke constantly curled from chimneys. Everything looked weathered by years of salt spray, rain, and dragon attacks. Wooden fences, watchtowers, and defensive structures ringed parts of the settlement, though many showed signs of damage and repairs.
Recently, Hiccup, son of chief Stoick the Vast. Has been acting weird. Always after Gobber's training in the arena, he would disappear off into the woods. Nobody noticed. Except for Astrid, who ended up talking to the other teenagers— Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, and Guest. She told them about her observation and asked if they knew anything.
Do you guys know why Hiccup keeps going into the forest? Astrid asked, looking around at the other teens. Her sharp blue eyes missing nothing as she crossed her arms.
Snotlout shrugged. How are we supposed to know? That ain't our job to watch the chief's son. He's just a scrawny weirdo. Fishlegs are buried deep in the dragon manual that teenagers had to read before training. The twins were terrorizing a nearby sheep, while Guest watched them with a deadpan expression. Then Ruffnut perked up and spoke.
Oh! Maybe we should follow him!
Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad of idea from Ruffnut Thoston. After all, the curiosity was there in everyone's mind. So that's what they did. They went into the forest in a single file line and followed the trail that Hiccup took.
Eventually, after wandering through the forest. The group arrived at a secluded area that had a natural pool, it had a shallow waterfall that spilled from a rocky ledge into the pool below. The pool was circled with stone walls and moss covered rocks with towering trees. And there, kneeling on the ground, was Hiccup... And a Night Fury!? Hiccup was holding a basket of fish and feeding a Night Fury. The one dragon that Vikings considered 'the unholy offspring of lightening and death itself.'
Astrid and the others immediately froze as they stood on the edge, staring at the scene of Hiccup and the Night Fury. Their minds quickly switching to dragon training mode, as they grabbed their weapons and gripped then tightly in their hands.
The Night Fury stopped eating as it's nostrils flared, catching the scent of the group and snapped its head towards the teenagers. It's wings half opened and growled at them, which alerted Hiccup as he immediately turned around. Noticing the group and stared with wide eyes and froze, everything was tensed as everyone processed everything. Nobody moved even for a second.
