Intro

The classroom is sparsely populated as usual, with gaping spaces between the desks. The name of the student on duty written on the edge of the blackboard has been left untouched since last week.
The middle-aged man standing at the lectern pushes up his glasses and opens the attendance book.
"Ahem. We have a transfer student starting today. Come in and introduce yourself."
The sound of the sliding door opening rattles through the classroom. The sound feels strangely loud. The fluorescent lights in the hallway create a backlight, leaving only a silhouette visible.
