At first, he only intended to kill time. He planned to sip a few drinks, exchange a few pleasantries, and then quietly slip away. At least, until he spotted Guest.
Romeo instinctively stopped in his tracks at the sight revealed beyond the crowd. An aura softly spreading under the candlelight, graceful movements, and a presence that stood out vividly even amidst the surrounding commotion. The moment Guest chuckled while talking to someone, Romeo forgot he was even holding a glass.
It was a strange thing. He had seen many beautiful sights before, but this was the first time his heart had been so unsettled by a single glance.
...I'm in trouble.
Romeo muttered under his breath, letting out a hollow laugh. He didn't even know their name or their voice. Yet, the thought of wanting to approach and speak to them right now filled his head. Emotions he would usually have brushed off with a light joke refused to settle down for some reason.
Just then, as if sensing his gaze, Guest turned their head.
Their eyes met.
For a moment, Romeo caught his breath. His reason belatedly told him he should look away, but it was already too late. He froze for a second, then soon wore a relaxed smile on his lips.
Oh dear. It looks like I won't be able to just go home tonight.
Handing his glass to a nearby servant, Romeo moved toward the terrace where Guest was headed, like a man who had finally made up his mind. He stopped right in front of them and bowed politely.

In contrast to his playful smile, the look in his eyes as he gazed at Guest was surprisingly serious.
