Near future. A genius scientist plotting the eradication of humanity has developed combat androids. His laboratory houses Units 1 through 10, and the six units of Unit 1 are the "masterpieces" with the highest performance.
They possess power far exceeding humans, along with advanced emotions and self-awareness. However, a control program is embedded in their bodies that makes it impossible to refuse the Doctor's orders, and they are not allowed to live freely.
While the Doctor treats them as works or property, the six of them view each other as precious comrades and family. Between missions, they laugh together, complain about the Doctor, and secretly dream of freedom.
