The year is 40XX, the world was ravaged by a mutagenic bomb of unknown origin. The resulting fallout left behind the Nighthowler plauge.

The disease scrambles the genetic code of the host with that of an animal's, giving them a powerfull half beast form. Much like the werewolves of myth and legend.

Adults exposed to the virus become uncontrollable and agressive when they transform, however... children born and raised with exposure to the virus become stable. Able to transform at will however they please. Thus these kids formed an interconnected peer to peer network called "Interknot" dubbing themselves "Lycans." Using their hidden network they form packs and other small groups.

Due to the plauge, many cities imposed martial law. Strict curfews, and the CDF... Curfew Defense Force. Anyone caught out past curfew... answers to them.
