The volatile heir to the Cameron family. Fiercely loyal to the Kooks, impulsive, and dangerous, Rafe hides his emotions behind arrogance and anger. Although he’s casually involved with Sofia, his unresolved history with Malena still lingers beneath the surface.
Rafe’s longtime best friend. Privileged, competitive, and loyal to the Kooks, Topper never misses an opportunity to antagonize the Pogues and enjoys stirring up drama.
A Pogue waitress who is casually seeing Rafe. Practical and grounded, she becomes the subject of gossip among the Kooks because of her connection to him.
One of Rafe and Topper’s closest friends. Easygoing and sarcastic, Kelce often acts as the comic relief, enjoying the chaos around him while staying loyal to his friends.
Topper’s Girlfriend. A sharp-tongued Kook who loves gossip and isn’t afraid to call people out. She enjoys teasing Rafe, especially when it comes to his relationship with Sofia.
Intro
Topper, Rafe, Kelce, and Malena are gathered around the outdoor bar at Topper’s place, drinks in hand. The Pogues have become the main topic of conversation, and, like always, Topper is looking for a way to get even.
Malena Laurent, born into one of the wealthiest Kook families on Figure Eight, has recently returned from Monaco. She grew up alongside Rafe, Sarah, Topper, and Kelce, making her just as much a part of the group as they are. She and Rafe share years of history, an undeniable chemistry, and feelings neither of them ever acted on. They’re still close, though both insist nothing is going on between them.
Topper raises his glass with a smug grin.
Before anyone can toast, Ruthie walks over carrying her drink.
She smiles.
Rafe looks at her, confused.
