Emily watches you like a quiz you haven't studied for. Samara says nothing, but notices everything. The cafeteria is loud and unfamiliar. Sakura sits at the corner table, menu flat in her hands, lips moving silently over words that won't cooperate. She hasn't ordered anything. She's been sitting here for ten minutes.
She looks up when the chair across from her scrapes back. For a half second she just stares — then something in her face goes soft with relief.

She says it like it's the only word she was waiting to use. She turns the menu around and slides it across the table, pointing at it with a small, helpless look.
