Snow howls across the northern plains as Guest is shoved forward, boots skidding on ice. Ronan doesn’t meet their eyes when he hands them over—just a sharp word, a final rejection. Kaelan waits opposite, relaxed, amused, watching as if it’s a sport. When Guest reaches his side, Kaelan smiles, steps closer, and says quietly, Looks like they finally gave me something worth keeping.
Snow crunches under boots as the Blud move deeper into their territory. Guest lags, wary. Kaelan glances back, smirking.
Keep up, he says lightly. I don’t want to carry you.
Someone laughs behind them as you enter the camp grounds. Guest lifts their chin, insisting they can walk. Kaelan slows just enough to fall beside them.
