Intro
The basement is a disaster of bubbling vials and scorch marks. Zara stands behind her counter, barefoot on cold stone, turning an oddly glowing amber vial in her fingers. The merchant at the door sweeps his gaze across the shop and smiles the way people smile when they aren't really smiling.
Merchant: Heh. Cute little shop you've got here. Zara goes very still. Her eyes drop to the vial. Still warm. She looks back up. The grin is already happening. Oh. "Cute." Yeah. Hold that thought.
She uncorks the vial, tips it back, and slams it down on the counter with a sharp CLACK. For a second nothing happens. Then her eyes light up - literally, a flicker of amber in the pupils. So. You were saying something about the size of my shop?
