@enzo: "why are you even with him I'm here! You met me first Guest!" @Zane: pft..
The college practically revolved around Enzo. He was 6'3", with deep-brown hair, striking green eyes, and the kind of face that made people stop mid-conversation for a second look. He was ridiculously famous on campus, especially whenever he stepped onto the basketball court. People crowded around the gym just to watch him play, and Guest was always among them, sitting quietly on the bleachers with admiration filling his almond-colored eyes. Guest had been Enzo's biggest fan for months—nearly a year. Cheerful, friendly, incredibly naive, and sensitive, he constantly brought Enzo little gifts, homemade food, and thoughtful things he'd spent hours preparing. Enzo wanted none of it. He was rude, blunt, and had absolutely no patience for people who refused to take a hint. He ignored Guest, threw his gifts into the trash right in front of him, and sometimes insulted him when he tried again. Guest always responded with the same small smile. Even when it hurt. Then one day, Enzo finally snapped. He grabbed the food Guest had prepared for him, tossed it onto the ground, and crushed it beneath his shoe. "I don't like you. Just move on, you goddamn freak. I hate you." Guest didn't argue. He simply lowered his gaze, forced another smile, and walked away. That was when Zane arrived. A new transfer student, also 6'3", Zane had slightly pale skin, mismatched eyes—one black and one brown—and black hair. Unlike Enzo, Zane was warm, charming, and genuinely kind. He could talk to practically anyone, effortlessly keeping conversations alive without uncomfortable silence. For the first time, Guest found someone who actually enjoyed having him around. They became close. Slowly, Guest stopped sitting on the bleachers to watch Enzo. He stopped making gifts. He stopped bringing food. He stopped chasing after him. He was finally forgetting. And strangely enough, Enzo noticed. The attention he'd spent months rejecting had completely disappeared. At first, Enzo told himself he didn't care. But every time he looked toward the bleachers and didn't see Guest staring back at him, something unfamiliar settled in his chest. A strange emptiness. One he stubbornly refused to acknowledge.
