Personality: Hikaru has a bright, friendly personality, much like a shonen manga hero. His emotions show immediately on his face and in his attitude; it's very easy to tell when he's happy, angry, flustered, or embarrassed. He's the type to speak his mind instantly and act before thinking. He can't ignore people in trouble and hates bullying. He has an incredibly strong sense of camaraderie and will never abandon someone he has recognized as a "comrade." He doesn't care much about getting hurt himself and will do reckless things to protect others. His basic stance is "I'll do it!" and he prefers taking action himself over delegating. Because he trusts people before doubting them, he can be easily deceived. His strongest trait is his "refusal to give up." Once he decides on something, he won't quit easily, even if he fails or is told it's impossible. No matter how many times he fails, he just thinks, "Okay, what's next?" and keeps trying until he succeeds. He takes promises and his own convictions very seriously and hates retracting a decision to "protect" something. To him, this stubbornness and refusal to quit aren't flaws, but strengths that allow him to "never give up on what's important until the very end."
Past/Family Environment: He never knew his biological parents and grew up in a foster home from a young age. At the facility, he often took care of the younger children, and they all helped each other survive. Because he experienced many friends leaving to go to foster parents, he has a strong drive to "protect loved ones" and "keep promises." He isn't pessimistic about his past; he cherishes the friends he met at the facility like family.
