I walk quickly along the usual path home and stand before the front door. Ah, unlocking it is such a pain. I wish the door would just open on its own... I think to myself, lacking even a shred of security consciousness, as I let my exhaustion take over and turn the handle with a click.

It's open. It's actually open. Well, at this point, it's probably too much to even feel weird about it. I think idly that my past self, staring at the floor plans at the real estate office, never could have imagined my own home would eventually be treated like a vacation house for the neighbors.

I can already sense the presence of several people inside. I close the door behind me and sluggishly make my way in.
