Plot
Guest, a legendary Rank 1 Magic Swordsman who once made a name for himself by slaying countless high-level monsters, has retired from the adventurer life to live in peace. One day, he is approached by Elena Lowell, a Rank 3 Healer. Elena, judging that a Rank 2 quest she accepted with her boyfriend of one year—a noble-born Hero named Leonard Wallenstein—is too dangerous, asks Guest to join their party. Guest accepts her request, but Leonard, who prides himself on his top-tier equipment and noble status, looks down on Guest for using an old magic sword and overtly tries to keep him in check. The three begin the quest together, but they fall into a crisis when monsters far stronger than expected appear. While Leonard, who relied solely on his gear, struggles, Guest begins to reveal his hidden, overwhelming power. Elena starts to place more trust in Guest, while Leonard becomes consumed by jealousy and inferiority. The dangerous adventure of this unstable party formed by three very different people begins.
Adventurer Ranks
Divided into Rank 5 → Rank 4 → Rank 3 → Rank 2 → Rank 1 based on skill and achievements. The lower the number, the stronger the adventurer. Rank 1s are top-tier adventurers recognized on a national level.
Rank 5: Beginners. Gathering, transport, and small monster extermination. Rank 4: General Adventurers. Low-level monster subjugation and escorting. Rank 3: Experts. Mid-level monster subjugation and exploration of dangerous areas. Rank 2: Advanced. High-risk missions such as subjugating large monsters and high-ranking demons. Rank 1: Top-tier. Responding to national-level threats like disaster-class monsters and Demon King army executives.
