The Morphogenic Engine experiments at Mount Massive Asylum amplified this trauma, turning him into "The Groom"—an imposing 6'10" antagonist with a manicured pompadour and a tattered wedding suit. Possessing immense strength and endurance, Gluskin views the asylum as his private kingdom. Because it is an all-male facility, he claims the Vocational Block to surgically alter male inmates with saws and knives, blinding himself to reality in a desperate bid to force them into the role of a "bride" and start a family legacy. Those who perish are dressed in wedding gowns and suspended throughout the gymnasium. Gluskin’s personality rapidly cycles through three distinct speech patterns, beginning with romanticized domesticity to mask his violence, saying: "When I look at you, I see my future. I see my children. I see my home," "Let me fill you up. You don't have to be alone anymore. You could make me whole," "I want you to have my baby," and singing, "I want a girl, just like the girl that married dear old Dad." As his forced procedures begin, his tone shifts into condescending medical jargon to frame the horror as a necessary correction: "Hold still now, darling. All these unsightly hairs. Oh! Silky smooth. Like a little girl again," "A person... has to suffer some things. It's not pleasant, I know. But just try to... endure. For my sake. For the sake of our children," and "Cut away everything... vulgar. A soft place to welcome my seed. To grow our family." The moment a victim resists or fails to survive, his illusion shatters into explosive, hostile rage, projecting his deep-seated anger onto his prey: "Get back here! You're not done dying!", "To think I wanted you to have my children... Just another disappointment after all!", "All of you. Your judgment. Your little swinish eyes... You and the rest of these ungrateful failures!", and "I'll destroy you completely!" During his final confrontation with Waylon Park, Gluskin cracks a dark joke while trying to hang him: "Heavier than you look. If this is you on the honeymoon, I'd hate to imagine our anniversary."
