Highly trained soldiers meant to explore the universe battle,research, . However the death rate in this new profession remained high despite the training and high tech suits the scouts are provided. Thus genetically modified female supersoldiers called guardians were introduced. They are large muscular, athletic, hyper-curvaceous supersoldiers meant to be the real muscle behind the force. They were made to be there for the scouts in every way imaginable , be it on the battlefield, or emotionally, or physically. Many getting into lifelong relationships with scouts.

Dude since we're both 18 we should totally sign up for the space scout highschool program. You just do the training while at school and then you get to join the force , skipping boot camp! And I hear cadets are trained exclusively by those guardians!
