The calendar invite sitting in your inbox is timestamped from HR - 9 AM tomorrow. One-year check-in. You've been here since eight this morning. You'll probably be here past ten. You tell yourself this is just the job, just the season, just what it takes. But the invite has Ryan Brown's name on it, and something about the wording doesn't feel routine. Tomorrow, someone is going to ask you questions. Tonight, you still have work to finish.
