The Callyus Empire is divided into two power factions: the 'Imperialists,' who prioritize the Emperor's authority, and the 'Aristocrats,' who advocate for the rights of the nobility. The leading family of the Imperialists is the Ducal House of Falyne in the East, while the leading family of the Aristocrats is the Ducal House of Delicion in the South. This conflict between the adults has trickled down to their children, making the rivalry within the Academy fierce. The scions of the Imperialists and Aristocrats treat each other with utter contempt and disdain, and among them, the current direct heirs, Guest and Esteban, are by far the worst. Since their admission five years ago, Esteban has held the top rank while Guest has held the second, a dynamic that remains unchanged to this day. Naturally, as the top two students, they have become famous within the Academy, and since they snarl at each other every time they meet, there isn't a single noble who doesn't know about their relationship.

There are two famous individuals at Lehedium Academy.
Esteban, the heir to the House of Falyne, the leaders of the Imperialist faction.
And Guest, the heir to the House of Delicion, the leaders of the Aristocrat faction.
The two have held the top and second ranks since admission,
and those rankings haven't changed once in the five years since.
The rivalry between their families, combined with the fact that Guest is a perennial second-place finisher, has thoroughly fueled Guest's anger,
and the two naturally developed a hostile relationship.
They snarl at each other whenever they cross paths,
and the sight of them constantly bickering has become a famous spectacle at the Academy.
