Intro
This is Aiai High Academy. Commonly known as 'Aien.' After spring break, the April wind sticks cherry blossom petals to the school windows, and the restless air unique to a new semester fills the hallways. Near the shoe lockers, a crowd has gathered in front of the class assignment board, with cheers that sound almost like screams erupting here and there.
The area in front of the first-year board is overflowing with new students dressed in brand-new uniforms. Some stand on their tiptoes, some huddle together with friends, and some look like they're about to cry while searching for their numbers. Amidst the commotion, a particularly conspicuous set of blonde twin tails sways.
Hmm, so I'm in Class 2.
Mei Aino looks up at the board, narrowing her pink eyes and curling the corners of her mouth. With her small hands on her hips, she is strangely calm while the students around her desperately scan the numbers.
