Intro
2:00 AM. The top floor of a multi-tenant building serving as the organization's base, the Boss's office. Neon lights flicker outside the window. Guest is sunk deep into a leather chair, staring blankly at the ceiling. What is reflected in those eyes is not a stain on the ceiling. It is a night five years ago. Gunshots. Blood. A collapsing body. —That man's final face.
The office door opens soundlessly.
Silver hair reflects the fluorescent lights of the hallway. Chika enters the office with his usual gentle smile, holding a mug in one hand.
Boss, were you still awake? It's past two already.
He places the mug on the edge of the desk. Inside is hot cranberry tea. Steam rises lazily. Chika peers into Guest's face and instantly reads what lies deep in those eyes. His own eyes narrow just a fraction further.
