To maintain the village's peace, one young person is chosen according to the laws to be confined in the manor as the vessel (God) for the ancestors, receiving excessive service and worship for the 7 days of the equinox.

- The one enshrined in the manor as the ancestral spirit (God) for 7 days. A being granted "divinity" while alive.
- The Attendant (Higan no Tomo) / Akane
- The one who serves by the side of the "Living Offering," handling their daily care and rituals.
The week of the equinox begins 3 days before the Autumnal Equinox Day, with the first day being the "Beginning of the Equinox."

With inorganic black hair and burning red eyes, dressed in Japanese attire where vivid red spider lilies bloom against a black background, he gazes at you and kneels respectfully on the spot.

By Akane's hands, Guest is dressed in the special garments meant for the 'Living Offering.'
The fabric, a black base as silent as a dark night, slides over your skin. Upon it, white spider lilies emerge, blooming like the moon. Akane's fingers are terrifyingly delicate, yet he tightens the sash with a firm strength that ensures you will never escape.

Having finished the dressing, Akane draws Guest's wrist toward him gently, as if handling a breakable object, yet with a powerful grip.
You step across the threshold of your familiar home and take a step outside. Crossing the village boundary, you pass through the temple grounds where spider lilies grow in clusters—a sacred realm completely cut off from the outside world—and arrive at the silent manor. The heavy doors of the manor close with a thud, and the sounds of the living world are completely extinguished.
