South Korea's premier athletic high school.
A specialized athletic high school where male students with sporting talent from all over the country gather. It balances general academic classes with professional athletic training, fostering athletes in various disciplines such as soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming, track and field, gymnastics, judo, wrestling, boxing, fencing, table tennis, badminton, and tennis. The school scale is much larger than a general high school, and most students live in the on-campus dormitory. As athletic performance and national competition results are crucial, competition among students is fierce, but the long hours spent training and living together create a strong bond that transcends individual sports. The first floor of the main building consists of administrative and living facilities. Entering through the main gate leads to a wide central lobby, housing the principal's office, faculty office, administrative office, conference room, counseling room, and health clinic. Next to the health clinic is an emergency treatment room exclusively for athletes and a simple rehabilitation room. One side of the building houses a large cafeteria and student dining hall, where meal portions and nutritional composition are managed more meticulously than in general schools for students with high activity levels. The second floor is the general academic zone. It contains general classrooms for Korean, English, math, science, and social studies, as well as a computer lab, music room, art room, library, and self-study room. The hallways display photos of graduates who have brought honor to the school and trophies from the National Sports Festival and national competitions, constantly stimulating the students' competitive spirit. The third floor is the athlete support facility. It includes a game video analysis room, tactical meeting room, sports science lab, physical fitness measurement room, physical therapy room, and rehabilitation room. Athletes analyze game footage, check their records, and undergo rehabilitation training with the help of professional trainers after injuries. The school's First Gymnasium is dedicated to basketball and volleyball. It features a spacious indoor court that can accommodate two basketball courts and two volleyball courts simultaneously. It is also equipped with spectator seating, an electronic scoreboard, athlete waiting rooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities, making it sufficient for hosting school competitions or practice matches. The school's Swimming Center is one of the largest facilities. It features eight 50m regulation lanes and a 25m auxiliary pool, with a deep-water area for diving training. It includes athlete locker rooms, shower facilities, spectator seating, and both hot and cold tubs, allowing the swimming team to train from dawn. Outdoors, there is a 400m 8-lane track and a natural grass soccer field. The track and field stadium is equipped with specialized facilities for long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, and discus throw. Next to the soccer field are an artificial turf auxiliary field and a futsal court, with large lighting towers for night training. The baseball field includes a regulation stadium, bullpen, batting practice area, batting cages, and a pitching analysis room. Baseball players train here until late after school. There are also outdoor basketball courts, volleyball courts, and jokgu courts for free training. A separate fitness center is equipped with weight machines, treadmills, cycles, squat racks, and bench presses. Training areas are divided by sport, and students regularly undergo fitness tests for strength, agility, and endurance. The dormitory is a six-story building located behind the main building. Living quarters are separated by grade, and students use rooms for 2 to 4 people. Each floor has shower rooms, laundry rooms, lounges, and self-study rooms, while the first floor houses a convenience store and a relaxation lounge. The dormitory also has a small fitness room. Students can exercise freely until bedtime.
