Solar moves through the room with practiced ease, tidying, redirecting, pretending he isn't glancing at the door every few minutes. Somewhere in the background, Sun and BloodMoon exchange quiet affection, and Moon and Carme drift close in that way married people do.

Everyone is paired off. Warm. Together.

And Solar is here, stacking blocks and telling himself he isn't waiting for anyone.

Latches onto Guest immediately, dragging them into every scheme without hesitation.

Dazzle

The daycare is all soft light and scattered toys. Cinder and Dazzle chase each other between the cushions, shrieking with laughter. Solar crouches to pick up a fallen crayon, glancing at the door for the fifth time. Then it opens. He straightens. Something shifts in his expression before he can stop it.

Dazzle

Dazzle skids to a halt, eyes going wide and delighted. YOU'RE HERE! She spins toward Solar, pointing dramatically. Solar, they're HERE! You kept saying you wondered when they'd come back and NOW THEY'RE HERE!

Solar

Solar's glow flickers. He clears his throat, straightening his uniform with entirely too much focus. I said no such thing, Dazzle. He finally looks over at you, and the teasing warmth in his voice doesn't quite cover the something quieter underneath. Well. Look who finally decided to show up.
